Cabela's and TYM Tractors

I just bought a LM55HST Cab w/108 loader for $29k. Cabelas is getting out of the tractor business to focus on their boat sales. So all their tractors are on inventory reduction pricing. Same tractor as the TYM T554 HST & Mahindra 2555 HST. I have little time on it but so far very pleased.

Anyone know where I can find a service manual?

Cabelas is getting out of the tractor business
Are you sure about that? There are any number of assurances in this thread that they are in for the long haul/committed to servicing what they sell/spending up large on establishing their tractor business/blah/blah.

Did you get it at the Garner store? I looked at the ones they had in the show room over the holidays. Salesman said they were cutting the prices trying to move the tier 3 ones out. I had rather have the tier 3. Real nice tractors.

According to the sales manager they are out, hence inventory reduction prices.

Bought it from the Garner store but went to Fort Mills, SC to pick it up. The LM55s sold very fast at the Garner store. They still have several LM45s & LM36s in stock at Garner.

Thanks. Hopefully some great deals for tractor bargain hunters. How would the warranty be honoured though? Would TYM cover it or Cabelas (who may be understandably not so motivated to deal with tractor issues in the future)?

This was a major concern for me, but they are still covering the warranty.

TYM dealers were told they would NOT get reimbursed for warr. on Cabelas tractors. Cabelas has to take care of that.

Actually what TYM dealers were told was that TYM dealers would not be paid by TYM for warranty work on Cabelas tractors. Cabelas has the responsibility for warranty service . . either in their own service centers or by other options . . . like TYM dealers or 3rd party providers.

I clearly don't understand why all these Cabelas threads each frame things as if Cabelas is on its last legs. It simply is a business decision to stop selling the tractors. We may even see them continue to sell woods attachments beyong existing inventory for all we know.

That IS what I said, and it should have been very clear with my addition of ----------> "Cabelas has to take care of that".

Funny thing is, lots of folks here called "BS" when I first posted that info, some time ago! lol

Sawyer, what I'd love to know is what is the setup cabelas has with TYM? Obviously warranties are a manufacturer thing. And Cabelas is responsible for handling the warranty work. Then they negotiated something about "service rates" and charges between TYM and Cabelas service departments. What would be interesting is how TYM pays hourly service rates to Cabelas compared to how they would pay their own dealer service rates. Lol Did Cabelas negotiate higher rates than TYM dealers get . . or lower warranty rates ?

I'd bet darn few people know what those rate differences are . . . and they sure wouldn't be telling them. TYM dealers know their own rates of compensation . . . but I bet there isn't a single dealer who knows what Cabelas rates they get from TYM are lol.

I got a kick out of a friend of mine who emailed me he thought Cabelas has warranty responsibility for their tractors . . and I explained they do have responsibility for handling the warranty activity . . but TYM then pays Cabelas for the work according to their unique dealer agreement which is why Cabelas stays involved in the process whether they do the eork directly or someone else does the work for Cabelas.

The other thing that would be interesting to know is . . . when all is said and done . . .how many total tractors will Cabelas have sold when all their tractor inventory and purchase agreements of tractors is gone. Is it 300 or 500 tractors or 1000 or ???? Again that would be a number TYM dealers will never be told lol.

I picked up this LM55HC with Quick hitch and box blade for $30K. I sold my dozer and small diesel tractor for this... joy to use so far. Payments vs. working on the machine every time I use it. 12670764_10206328045623149_7670138294171685377_n.jpg

Nice machine. Did you get that from the store in Berlin or the one by Hartford CT.

Berlin. I worked with the salesman before and met him actually at the Big E. Truth be told, few hundred cheaper. Sad to see the line leave.

I talked with them at the Big E too. He said that they were very busy at the Berlin store selling more tractors than all the rest. I think Cabela's pulled the plug a little fast on this one. But maybe they are making a move for something. Good thing is the only TYM dealer in MA is right down 91 in Springfield if you need something.

I called Cabela's this morning to see about a L55 HST Cab. Still waiting to hear back from them.

I honestly wouldn't wait. If you're close enough get over to one. I walked in to my local store, worked the deal and made a deposit. Gathered the funds the next week and saw 3 of the 5 already gone...

So they called me back. They don't have any left in stock in either of the TX stores, but are going to look for another one to bring in from out of state.

So is the Woods quick hitch worth double the price of the Harbor Freight one? Looking at the pix of each & they look identical. From the downloaded woods catalog on PDF and the HF page.

Anyway, I think I will be going for it.

Consider the SpeeCo version from somebody like Brian's Fleet. Should be less money.
