71 this morning and headed to 89 today. Head out and walk chickens.

Okay Farmer I gotta ask because someone is going to... When you walk the chickens, do you use little collars and leashes? Is there a leash law for chickens?

Nice sign Kev. You know it never ends. New sign, new mailbox and before you know it you will be holding a paint brush.

Yeah, already discussing that one Dave

62F and cloudy @ 09:45 ... headed up to a high of 77F with a mix of sun and clouds ...

Time to investigate the leak in the quick couplers on the loader once the sun pops out I guess ...

Need to clean up the shop a little, put some tools away, and order some parts.

Yep. I've got 94,000 chickens each one has a collar and a leash, plus they line up twice a day to be walked.

Actually I just walk through them. Checking things and taking care of the daily chores.

Are you taking precautions against the avian flu virus? Not in your area yet I guess. Hope it dies out before it affects you.

I saw where a big grocery chain in TX is limiting eggs to 3 dozen per customer and asking for no commercial purchases.

65°F and 1.0 inches rain last 24 hours

Mowing complete, but will redo this weekend so it looks good while we are gone. Amazing how thick it was.

Be safe
Have a great day

Rain just got here. Had a bad thunderstorm come through about half an hour ago. Lots of wind, thunder and lightning, but just a few drops of rain. Hope this one stays around for a while.

I got the rough cut done on the garden. I'll do it again in a couple of days.

I have just over an hour and a half before I have to hit the shower for work. I wonder if a nap is in my future. Alarm clock set? Check. Couch? Check. Book? Check. Rain on the metal roof? Check.

Just thought I'd share a little TBN feature I've found very useful, though most of you TBN old timers probably know more about it than I do.

At the top of every forum page like this one, you'll find a MY HOME gear shaped button. Clicking on it will take you to another page where you can adjust your TBN settings, but most of the page is filled with a list of threads to which you have subscribed. You subscribe to a thread when you post to it, either by starting it to begin with or by replying. You can also select "Subscribe to this thread" under the Thread Tools menu at the top of each forum page.

The default list shows only threads that have entries you have not seen yet, and this makes it very easy to catch up on what you haven't read. There's a View All Subscribed Threads button at the bottom right of the list if you want to see all of the threads that you've responded to or started.

If you no longer wish to follow a particular thread, there's an Unsubscribe link under each one in the list.

Hope this helps...

Bookmark the "My Home" page, like I did, and it's where you go when you click on TBN.

Morning Roy.
I heard a shower go through earlier but it is just dripping now.

Got a hard storm here about 90 minutes ago (just before I got home). A lot of water on I-89 (around White River Junction) and Bethel was drenched. Several trees down (none on our property) and I think that may have been a microburst.

Yes we have precautions in place. It's actually been found in the state in wild ducks. It was found about 3 hours west close to the Mississippi River. This country has lost like 40 million birds because of it. It's not supposed to be able to tolerate the heat. So hope it's killed out here in the next few weeks. Although no guarantee it won't be back in the fall. It's transmission came by migrating birds.
