Is the F3680 still a current model?

Were you in low range or high? Fluid warmed up enough?
RPM range (WOT?) or slower.
I also use ear plugs , have slight hearing loss from various weapons I have been around/trained on.
Am not as old as J.T. but could draw early SS

It wasn't warmed up yet, low range, medium rpm. I didn't have the mower engaged since I wasn't mowing. I'm just comparing it to my tractor, where I don't really hear any HST noise under any conditions. I'm sure it must be normal, I'm just not used to it. I'm sure The mower noise should drown out any HST whine. Thanks for the replies!

I had the "whine" on my GR2120, took it back and had them check it out. Was told that the RPM is set higher then the manual calls for causing the whine, and turned it down to 3k-RPM. Whine gone! Maybe something to check out on your F-series.....

Did my first mowing of 2015 today. 20 seconds of glow plug, just turned key for a second and fired up like it had just been turned off 5 minutes before. :dance1:

Argggg....you guys giving me F series fever again. I'd like that one with the expensive deck....so I can trim around ponds, without getting stuck.
