2013 John Deere 3032E
So I bought my 3032E in January, I have a year to decide on buying the extended warranty. Any thoughts on buying the warranty? I typically don't buy these but this is my first tractor and I'm not sure. The tractor will not be used hard. Loader work, snow removal and brush hog work. Any input is appreciated.

With the problems the electronics give I'd say extended warranty is a must have.

Depends on the warranty price, of course. If warranty is a wash with the electronics pricing, then probably not.

And it also depends on how much new is on the 3032E - if there's a bunch of electronics for emissions, then probably 'yes' as this is not mature design yet.

I didn't buy extended warranty on my 1000 series, but that was pre-EPA Tier IV emissions too.

I no longer buy extended warranty due to the cost. The less problems a device has, the lower the warranty cost in most instances. One year extended warranty is usually fairly cheap unless there is a major problem with the item but after that the cost is half the cost of a new item (maybe not that much in tractors but the logic is the same). It is basically a life insurance policy for the equipment, the older it is the higher the policy cost is and if it is in bad health (like poorly designed or having major defects) then the cost reflects this in the cost of the policy.

As Deereman says, if it is a new design with lots of reported bugs in it, then get the policy otherwise it is a crapshoot as to needing vs not needing it which is factored in the cost by the warranty provider.

MY 3032E is a 13 model so not a Tier IV, pretty much a bullet proof 3 cylinder Yanmar engine, pretty basic tractor, not much for electronics. Here's the pricing, covers the tractor only, not even the loader.

ALL OF THE BELOW PLANS HAVE A $100 DEDUCTIBLE PER OCCURRENCE

COMPREHENSIVE TRACTOR WARRANTY TOTAL 60 MO/1500 TOTAL HOURS (3 EXTRA YEARS BEYOND 2 YEAR BASIC WARRANTY OR 1500 HRS, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST) =$1273

COMPREHENSIVE TOTAL 48 MO/1500 TOTAL HOURS (2 YEARS BEYOND BASIC OR 1500 HOURS, WHICHEVER FIRST) =$849

What does the "E" represent after the 3032? I thought trans & hyd functions were electronic controlled? Have you ever paid for any dealership diagnostics?

Not sure what the "E" stands for. I have only had the tractor since January. It has a 2 year warranty standard. But you have to buy the extended within the first year of ownership or if you buy it in the second year then allthe fluids have to be sent off for testing at my expense.

"E" kind of loosely stands for "economy" they don't have all the bells and whistles of the 3x20's...no eHydro.
The new naming in order of "niceness" is D, E, M, R

I'm pretty much leaning towards no extended warranty. Thanks for your comments.
