Dirt road. I have a commercial policy. Unfortunately I can't go with a bigger truck at the moment. 2 kids I have to haul around hence the crew cab when not working. Hopefully 2 years I can get a dedicated haul truck. It looks like I will have to get the dot stuff. I guess I am going to run it and hope to not cross fit. It's all local and mostly back roads.

Your truck will handle it but I personally don't like pulling that much weight with my truck, would do it every once in a while bit not every day. Not to mention if something would happen then the lawyers would probably tear you up for using a pickup. I would get a bigger truck with are breaks.

Bought a 75 chevy C70, got it for $1200 rebuilt 350 and rebuilt trans, took off dump body and put a 5th wheel and goose neck ball on it, haul every thing I got with the old girl.

That is all the truck you need and cheap to operate!

Hahaha!! When you spend all your money on college, you really have to come up with cheap ideas! And it gets about 10-11mpg, put a fuel injected 350 in it and geared it out just right, for driving just 30-50 miles away to me it's perfect. You can haul machines and haul chips and logs to the mill.

Look at a S/A tractor with a day cab. they can be had with a diesel and ALOT more capacity than your pickup for 10k or so. If your in business look at it as a write off!

F-450 4x4 service body (12,000#) pulling a 10 ton PJ bumper hitch. No problems. Good brakes and the tow/haul switch on the transmission helps.

Hey John,
My F450 is a 2005 with a 6.0 diesel. I picked it up a couple years ago with 9,700 miles on it. Had to do a little turbo and EGR work on it but it's a good puller.
