Rear Blade What size rear blade for my John Deere 1026?

My favorite thing about having a tilt blade is unlocking that pin. I can then just smooth an area, the blade automatically sits on and therefor cuts high points and drops the material into low places. When the blade is locked you have to worry about one of the wheels hitting a bump (or dip) and that causing the blade to tilt with the tractor and dig irregularly. One less thing I have to manage while trying to make things smooth is nice, I had a lot of trouble making the grounds and the driveway even until I upgraded to the RB2060L. On the other hand a land plane removed the whole problem altogether... if I'd have had that to start with then I'd probably have stayed with my cheap CL blade.

I will prolly just go with the straight blade and not the tilt, I won't be cutting any ditches. I doubt if I will be using the blade that much either, just grading my driveway and what little snow we get. I wish I could find a good used one, but everyone I have seen is beat up.

I found a nice 'old' blade on VCI out of Paducah KY for $100 and craigslist is a good option.

Looks like someone was doing a lot of pushing, maybe even with the blade angled... And certainly with a bigger tractor than mine.

I checked on Woods website and found several dealers within 50 miles where I live. I will give them a call and see if there price is comparable. $500 for a blade that tilts in a good deal. The landpride RB1560 is $499.

My dealer was $450 for a RB0560 that was orange so $499 sound good for a 1560.
