What Was Your Top Project in 2012?

Top project - getting "shops" usable



After purchase they were a MESS



I had to set up my sawmill and get it running



Buy Pallet racking on Craigs List



And line the walls so it doesn't become a mess due to me and there is plenty of off the flooor storage.



Overall I've added about 1000 sq ft of OFF the floor shelf space, or 1500 sq ft of storage space total.

Now I need to get a

I but did get the wood shed built and filled, so far have not really needed the shed part, it but what snow we have got looks like it will make getting the wood easer, the wood is going tho,

the bulk of the build was from used lumber, and one week I had some teenage kids out and had them help on a lot of it, I know it is not much, but it is a nice addition to the place,

I nearly forgot that I finished this up in 2012
the tower for the wind turbine, (still need the turbine),

I got a kick out of the one picture with the jet trail in it when putting the turbine mast in the tower, as it looks like it had just lanched some thing out of it.

No pictures, but my 42' x 63' pole barn has only had an electrical panel with one circuit going to an outlet a few inches from the panel. I had to use extention cords for everything. I finally installed outlets down 3 walls, all in conduit and GFCI protected.

My 2013 project is to install lights. Conduit has been run to switch locations so far. Still have to run conduit from the switch boxes, install all the lights, pull the wire and hook everything up. A job I put off way too long.

my biggest project was the replacement of my 2 hips in October!
now that it's over and i am getting more mobile, i see a new back paver
patio in 2013, about 800 sq ft.

You might have beat us all. Nothing like getting some new hips and having a stronger body. I'd say that's pretty important.

Tore off and reshingled four roofs on my outbuildings

Yikes, that sounds like a lot of work. How long did it take you?

Sorry to say not one project I had hoped to have completed in 2012 quite got there. Don't want to Jinx myself but some built in cabinets might be finished by the end of Feb...Here's to lucky 2013!

Are you an electrician? That sounds like some dangerous work! But well worth it, I'm sure.

There should be a balance though. The last several months have been all work and no play.

Agreed! Sometimes it takes more work just to slow ourselves down and relax. Well, I hope you get that hunting time in. When is it your season? What do you hunt?

Cleared 12 acres of cedar and juniper, installed a slanted deer fence and planted 450 pecan saplings.

Last year I cut down around 150 trees and moved a stone wall to my border. I don't have a before pic. I need to seed it for grass this spring.

Dove starts in the beginning of September, followed by small game and then deer. I enjoy getting out with the shotgun for doves and rabbits, a .22 rifle for squirrels and a rifle or handgun for deer. More often than not everything but deer ends up being fried in olive oil and soy sauce for "finger food" while it's still fresh
