Why do women wear shoes that hurt their feet? My wife wore a pair to her Homemakers Club Christmas Party tonight that she knew would cause her feet to hurt for two days. WHY???

Wow, you haven't been married very long. If you want more tractors and attachments you need to just agree with what she says and not wonder beyond the moment. It won't matter anyway and when you want the second or third tractor when the other one or two is perfectly fine there is less resistance if you have been a good soldier.

Oh, when they wear shoes that hurt their feet they do it mostly to remain competitive with other women and to look nice for their husbands or to keep their husbands looking at them rather than the other women whose feet also hurt.

That, of course, is the straight simple truth. They think the shoes are flattering and are willing to undergo the pain and discomfort in order to look good to other people. My answer would be as follows:

"Hon, you know how those shoes hurt your feet, and in my opinion, they don't actually show just how attractive your feet really are...not all women are that fortunate. Why don't we go down and get you a whole new outfit and a couple new pair of shoes that will look just as good or better and won't hurt your feet?"
