Kubota L4150 slow to start

New to me Kubota L4150 that is slow to start, 2590 hrs, doesnt smoke, runs great, it is slow to start on initial crank up, I warm up the glow plugs for approx 30 secs but takes 3 or 4 attempts to get it started, checked the glow plugs and I think they are ok, has a hot battery in it, the fuel filter system had been removed and inline filter in place, i changed all this back to the original system, don't know if this would affect starting, the glow plug indicator on the dash gets hot but does not glow, looks like this tractor has a fuel transfer pump, just wonder if this could be weak or bad, tractor cranks and runs good after iinitial start up. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you get smoke at startup? Your manual lift pump maybe weak or failed completely. If your glow plugs are weak you will get lots of blue smoke and rough running on initial start-up. Does it make any difference if you pull throttle to full when starting and then move it to idle quickly as it catches?

I just came in from trying it, I warmed the plugs for 1 min, hit the starter, got smoke from the start and it was like it was trying to crank, trying to crank, trying to crank , it started on the 2nd attempt but I started it about 2 hrs ago and its not cold down here today, how long should I warm the plugs, I may be worried about nothing but I have owned a couple Kubotas in the past and they all crank up immediately,

Kind of a update, out dragging my road this afternoon after monsoon went thru last and this thing doesn't crank good when its hot or cold, drug my neighbors road and he is a disel mech, he sez its not getting fuel like it should, I'm going to change out the fuel pump and see if this clears it up, if not it may be the injector pump, anyone ever had one rebuilt, what kind of cost is this???

Before I messed with the IP I would check the mechanical lift pump that it is delivering and then do the injectors. And just for giggles new glow plugs.
