I do know that yellow tomatoes have less acid than red tomatoes so you could see how Kelsey responds to them. My son doesn't like tomatoes at all, at least not yet. He loves honey. I put it on boiled carrots and he loves that. I'll have to look into the medicinal benefits of honey--thanks for sharing. I don't know any other kids that have acid reflux as bad as my son.

Another thing that really helps is if you elevate the portion of her bed where she lays her head. We've done that since he was a baby because he used to spit up a LOT. It definitely helps.

Please let us know how her test goes next week. She should have no discomfort at all. Barbara

The problem with tomatoes isn't just acid.
Any food that has skin or seeds can cause problems .

I have done a lot of research on 'acid-reflux' and i haven't read of anyone that young with such a bad problem like your son... I really hope they can get this under control, and like i said, I would Pray & I done that the night when you left your post.

I have already elevated her bed.. I put some 2X4 blocks of wood under the posts and she also sleeps on two pillows.

Yes, indeedy, by all means, with the ones already listed along with Don Worall's family and Bill's daughter Kelsey,...and many more on my private list,.....we have proof that our combined prayer's work and work well! Miracles, I call them! So why not add Mrs Brown and Barbara's son to our list and get them some Heavenly help too. We KNOW it works,..IF, you believe!!

Hey Bill I am glad to hear that Kelsey is still doing well and I believe just as you stated that our prayers were answered.

Yes she is still pain free from all the body pain she was having that started months ago, and she was having all that pain when they done the 'NBS' test... But now its gone, so I believe that God has taken care of that.

On her other problem.
She is still having some acid-reflux, but its not as bad as it was before and they will be doing another test on Thursday to check her esophagus, and God can take care of that.

Yes we do.

In one of my post I told LB that I would keep his wife in my thoughts & Prayers.

I have also told Barbara that i would Pray for her 7 year old son, and I Prayed that he would get better each day!.... Its really sad for a child this young to have a problem like acid-reflux.

My son AJ is now 11 years old and thriving. He started having a teaspoon of honey or more each day and we'll see how it goes--THANK YOU so much Bill for this suggestion. My son also wanted me to thank you for it! I am going to see if it helps over time and I'll let you know. The medicine and all of the other remedies combined together really make a difference.

I'm glad it wasn't worse with your daughter.

It seems to me that the ER doctors are the most dangerous ones in a hospital, because a lot of them will work all weekend without sleeping, and they also have doctors in training that work in the ER, and people that start work for a ambulance service have to have so many hours working in the ER.

I apologize to johndeere4300 and hid daughter Kelsey for causing this thread to take an unneeded turn when I posted this. I will tell her story so you can see where I was coming from.

In August of 2001 my oldest daughter went to the local "ER" with sever adonabal pains, ( no health insurance)after about being there 3 hours she was sent home, no tests were done but she was given 80.00 dollars in heart burn meds. Three days later ( her 30TH birthday) she ended up in emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. They had to remove 6 inches of her large intestine, about 3 litters of puss from her intestinal cavity, put a temporary ileostomy, spent 21 days in the hospital, 3days in ICU, when she was sent to room on the floor she was left unattended without suction and IV line hooked up. She was not allowed to eat or drink for 18 or so days(only ice chips to keep her mouth moist, all nourishment was by iv's. After three months they were able to remove the ileostomy and reconnect the intestines. A short time later she had a puss sack on the intestine which caused a blockage, the "ER" doctor asked if her doctor was aware that her ileostomy was plugged (ileostomy was no longer there), more surgery and a temp,colostomy. At the age of 32 she had to have to have a complete hysterectomy due the original infection( note the 3 litters of puss removed from intestinal cavity. She still can not work, some days minutes after she eats it goes straight through, throat problems due to the bile she pucked up, and back problems due to the epidurals for surgeries. she still sees 2 specialists in Lebanon NH(240 mile round trip).

I only read the first couple pages of this thread but hoping everything will turn out fine !

I have been away from the forum for sometime because of work and just stumbled upon this thread...

As far as the acid reflux question, my wife Kathleen has that problem and does quite well taking Nexium as a medication. There are a number of meds available but that one seems to work for her... just thought I would mention that !

Are prayrs are with your daughter !
