K-9 Advantix protecting from cat contact

We are currently using Frontline on our dog, but have purchased some K-9 Advantix because it is advertised to 'repel' ticks - which the frontline does not.

The package says to not use it on cats, and we have 2 cats in the house.. If we used it on the dog and took him outside until it dried/absorbed would that be dangerous to the cats?

The cats typically do not play with the dog a great deal, and have never crawled onto him ie where they would come in contact to the applied area. Does anyone know how much contact is needed for it to be dangerous to the cats?

Any thoughts?

I use Frontline Plus on my dogs. It kills fleas and ticks and you can use it on cats too.

The main reason that some products are for dogs and not cats is because the cats will clean themselves with their paws frequently licking their paws and swallowing the poisons.

does the dog ever roll on the floor?
not sure if that could lead to exposure
to the cat, but i'd be careful and stick
to the frontline that's safe.. just mho

Its time for the dogs vet visit so i was going to ask them, but thought I would ask here first..
