L340 Kubota
Model Year: 2010
After reading many items on the internet and talking with owners of small tractors, we finally bought a new L 3400 4x4 Kubota with loader at Cheyenne, Wyoming Kubota. We wanted a tractor that could be moved between Iowa and Colorado as we live in each state about 6 months of the year. Also bought a on Craigslist, a used 20 foot tile bed double axle 14,000 GVW trailer to haul the tractor. After two years and 200 hours of operation, my conclusion are as follows: Don't buy used. For the price, financing, and warranty, new is a much better investment. Buy the biggest tractor you can afford and move around on your property. Warranty and the dealer are very important. Cheyenne Kutoba has given me EXCELLENT service and advice. Plan on spending some money on attachments, if not now then later. Stay away from brands that are not made by a major company, especially if the tractor is made in China. I have neighbors in Colorado with tractors made by Ford, John Deere, and two that are identical by have different brand names from China. The tractors made in China seem to need constant repair and parts are hard get. The John Deere has a plastic hood that cracked after two weeks of use and the dealer refused to do anything about it. The Ford and Kubota work hard and haven't required any repair. The hydro drive is worth the money and allows my wife and granddaughters to drive the tractor with only a few minutes of instruction. Would I buy another Kubota? Yes. Have I had any problems with the tractor? No. We pull logs, move dirt and rocks, and plow lots of snow. The tractor has exceed my expectations and I'm fussy.
Pros: No interest on the purchase price, resale, reliability.
Cons: Needs more weight. Lift capacity on loader.
