    Thoughts on 3pt log splitters?

There seems to be 2 schools of thought here. Those that need a loader to bring rounds to the splitter. And those that are content to bring the splitter to the rounds. Then there are those who have 2 tractors. :p

    Thoughts on 3pt log splitters?

I like the idea. No additional motor to maintain...I have been looking for a used one. Actually it should be pretty easy to make one if you're handy

Rear Finish Mower How to narrow a three-point attachment arms

And that is why I own a Kubota. The arms slide in and out and side to side with adjustment pins. I can cant the mower off to the left or right and it stays there...no tire rubbing, no bending Upon further thought in order for one arm to swing out the other arm would have to swing in or bend...

Rear Finish Mower How to narrow a three-point attachment arms

Another question would be why is there no restriction preventing the tractor drag arms from spreading? My older tractors had a X of chains between them limiting spread. And the current Kubota has sliding adjustable side support arms limiting the arms lateral movement preventing this from...

You Know You Are Old When

They were quite simple, functional, and usually cheap. Haul away a discarded pickup. Remove the cab and cut the frame at the front of the cab. Make some cuts in the C channel, bend the sides inward and attach to a tongue. Trailer. I ended up selling it to a guy that 'had' to have it because it...

Medium duty 5 ft bush hog?

I was given an old BH 5' cutter and it's built like a tank... strong and no worries, there's not a spot of paint on it

    Pto extender

Sometimes only a slide hammer will do. Looks like a hole where you could put a hardened bolt thru the end and and tap with a hammer

    On Site Fuel

Significant savings here, at least $1 a gal on red diesel due to high road tax so going to town for 100 gal makes sense.

You Know You Are Old When

When I was young we lived in a rural place without trash service so I made a trailer from an old pickup and put plywood sides on it. When It filled up I would go to the dump. My then wife would accuse me of coming home with more than I left with... not my fault people were throwing...

    On Site Fuel

I had a 55gal barrel with a fuel pump and later upgraded to a 100 gal tank that I haul to town for red diesel. I mostly mow 10-15 acres a few times a yr and maintain a mile of gravel road. Tank has a 12v pump and nozzle on it. Fits in the pickup for refueling 1-2 times a year depending upon the...

Has anyone used a ‘dumpster bucket’ on their loader?

My wife's Aunt had a huge plywood box affixed to (built around) the Kubota bucket for horse manure when they boarded a lot of horses on their place. They would till the manure into the fields. Actually horse manure is a poor fertilizer but you have to do something with it...

Has anyone used a ‘dumpster bucket’ on their loader?

I built a cement block bin about 8x8x4 with a concrete floor. Had the little woman dump all the manure in there then any bucket small enough to fit in the dumpster (60") was used to load the weekly haul off bin.
