    Flickering light socket

Following. I have similar problem on a ceiling fan with three bulbs. One bulb won't stay on. I can flick it with my finger and it will come on and stay on for awhile, then go off again. I've opened up the wiring, but can't find anything wrong. New bulb, same thing.

Bought a new to me PTO chipper. Need help undoing the previous owners "modifications"

IMHO it is best to run any PTO equipment keeping the drive shaft at level as possible to save wear and tear on the U joints. I place 4x4's under the skids on my BX42 which raises it just enough to level out the drive shaft. While I realize that the purpose of U joints is to accommodate...

You Know You Are Old When

For me, it's been the opposite. I really didn't start turning out what I would consider to be "quality work" until I was about 55 (I'm 66 now). Not saying that I'm a particularly great fabricator, carpenter, concrete finisher, or whatever now, but it took me that long to learn techniques...

    Educate me on zero turns

Me, personally, if I was moving to a place with 100 acres and I had two tractors, I would find a place to house and keep both. Especially if one or both are pre-emissions machines. You just never know when the BX might come in handy.

    Winter preparation.

Winterize sprayer. Snow tires on daily driver. Move flower pots to shed. Unhook water hoses from bibs. Leaf pickup. Overseed yard. Open HVAC register to garage.

$650 per year to have an alarm system and ADT expects ME to test their system every month and make sure it works. Especially irritating because you know they can run all the diagnostics they need remotely.

    Battery powered chainsaw

A kick-back incident was the very first thing that happened when I was trying out my new (at the time) Echo 271T. Fortunately, no contact with the saw. I still one-hand it all the time, but that incident was my wake-up call to be more careful. I bought the saw for climbing, but it has become...

At least they are ASKING. Our government TAKES our money and gives it away (many times to causes we would NEVER support, given the choice) at the point of a gun and threat of ruination and/or jail.

Careful, I finally got around to trimming back that bush that was hitting me in the face and it turned into a half-day's work...

He did de-limb the tree all the way to the top, but yes, no bucking, just chunked the tree down in 10 foot pieces or so.

August cuts down a 150 foot pine with Milwaukee electric saw on basically one battery. Didn't switch to second battery until final cut at the base.

    Cool Nature Photos

This deer we have named Socks visited our bird bath with her fawn last evening. We have not had rain in a month and the deer drink our bird bath dry a couple of time per day now. Edit: I need to just install a watering trough out there....
