    Good morning!!!!

Pouring rain, here. 1.5" in gauge so far, but others around here have 4"+. Saw this guy in my back yard, with a hen just off frame to the left. Look at the field in the background. He just planted corn here over the weekend.

Z930R - Zero Turn Purchase - Comments and Rules of Thumb?

I signed up for the dlr's extending the JD warranty, if they do the service work. I do it instead anyway. Pretty easy, really.

    Good morning!!!!

I come from an insurance industry (claims) background, and I can't explain it either... I always thought "liability" should be ONE charge for each driver (I can only drive ONE vehicle at a time - there is no liability danger just sitting in the drive...), then add on the collision for each...

What did you buy this week?

I picked up an old(ish) 5 foot rotary cutter (aka bush hog) for $200. Got it identified with help from this forum. Not rusted out - one slice in the rear from a blade. The seller said it leaks at the base of the gearbox. PTO shield is missing. It needs a vented fill plug to relieve the...

    Good morning!!!!

No rain for a day or so, so I'm going out to spray glyphosate on some food plot work. I'm waiting for the dew to burn off. The SIL says I should spray when the dew is still on, but I've always thought that would dilute the mix. What say ya'll?

    Rotary cutter ID help?

I just bought this rotary cutter (cheap) and I need some help identifying it. The seller didn't know the brand. He said the gearbox leaks, so I will probably need some parts... It's a 5 footer, kinda red(ish), has a big/heavy round disk that the blades attach to (not a real "stump jumper")...

    Deere 755

I've noticed there's always a TON of used BX's for sale, all over. I wonder why? I've always thought they (and the 1 series JD's) were too small to do any useful work, besides mowing.

    Good morning!!!!

I had a visitor yesterday. He was born (~1950) and raised in this (farm) house. They farmed this 80 acres here and his Dad did custom corn shelling. The 3,000 bushel corn crib (full cobs) is still here. They heated the house with the cobs (haven't heard about that kind of heat for years...)...

    Good morning!!!!

On the way back from local dirt track racing last night, I hit my first deer (ever). 10:15pm Three ran across to road. I slowed way down, they cleared me but then the last one turned right around and ran back in front of me - BANG!, left front hit. I think I was only going 10 -15 mph. Minor...

    Good morning!!!!

I spent 3 hours spraying 41% glyphosate yesterday early afternoon, to kill pasture grass on a newly acquired hunting spot. Nice, sunny afternoon and evening. This morning, I awake to thunder, lightning and heavy rain (again). I hope the "after a few hours - it's rainfast" is correct and I...

    Sprayer recommendation

When I had my pole barn roofs painted, he had a great setup for spraying real thick asphalt type roofing paint. He said it was a used highway stripe sprayer. Maybe you can find a local paint/sealer contractor and just pay 'em...
